What is Shared Branching?
Shared Branching is a nationwide network of credit unions that work together to allow members of one participating credit union to complete select transactions in the branch of another participating credit union.
If you don't live near a Progressions Credit Union branch, or travel frequently, Shared Branching could be very useful for you. When you visit the branch of a participating credit union, you may be able to make select transactions, including:
- Loan payments
- Loan advances
- Deposits
- Withdrawals
- Money orders
- Cashiers checks
- Transfers between Co-Op Shared Branching CU's
- Balance Inquiries
- History printout
You cannot open or close accounts or take out new loans at Shared Branching locations. These can only be done
online, over the
phone, or at a Progressions Credit Union branch.
What do I do when I go in?This part is easy. First you have to find a
Co-Op Shared Branching location. When you arrive, let the teller know you're a member of Progressions Credit Union, give them your member number, and provide a valid government-issued photo ID that includes your signature. Once you're verified, you can perform a number of transactions as if you're in our lobby.
Before you go, make sure your information on file with us is up to date. This includes your phone number, address, and driver's license number.
