State of the Credit Union - Letter from CEO Jay Williamson of Progressions Credit Union
I wanted to take a moment and let our members know how well Progressions Credit Union is doing and to say Thank You! Progressions Credit Union ended August 2019 with a record in total assets of almost $68 million, that’s a growth rate of over 15% from last year, and we have never been healthier from a financial standpoint. Word of mouth remains our number one source of new business, so thank you, we couldn’t grow without your help and it is very much appreciated.
We know there is disappointment and maybe even some concern about our decision to leave the partnership with Canopy and Horizon Credit Union. That branch was convenient for many of our members. This decision wasn’t made because of any financial hardship from any of the three credit unions involved, especially not Progressions Credit Union.
We know our members live and work in many places and that our location on Mission Ave. isn’t convenient for everyone. That’s the primary reason we are a member of the
Shared Branching Network. There are over 30 locations in Spokane alone where you can continue to do your in-branch transactions. We also have recently enhanced our online and mobile platforms to serve your needs from anywhere, at any time.
Leaving the partnership gives us a great opportunity to open a new branch of our own, an opportunity the board and management team has been working on since the beginning of 2019. Opening a branch unique to Progressions Credit Union allows us to control the design, technology, personal service, and location of the new branch. These are decisions we didn’t have exclusive control over as part of the Credit Union Service Center. We are excited about the opportunity to serve not only our current members, but strategically locate in an area that will help us grow and reach new members for many years to come.
We have had several members give input and share ideas and I’d like to encourage more of that. Call, email, or stop by and share your thoughts and ideas. The more ideas the better. Feel free to stop by and just chat – our members are family and we’d love to simply catch up and share a cup of coffee with you.
Thank you again for your membership and support, I believe we have the best Credit Union in Spokane and the staff and I at Progressions couldn’t be more proud to serve you, our members.
Sincerely,
Jay Williamson
